The Crazy Pig BBQ Taphouse, Davidson NC

Slide1.JPG

In this episode of Pit Stop Barbecue Reviews, we finally stop by one of the local spots people have been telling us to try for a while, The Crazy Pig. Located in the heart of Davidson near Davidson College, this place brings together small-town charm, great barbecue, and a fun atmosphere that instantly makes you feel welcome.

We dig into a three-meat platter with brisket, pulled pork, and smoked chicken, plus classic sides like potato salad, baked beans, coleslaw, and fries. The brisket ended up being one of the biggest surprises we’ve had so far on our barbecue journey. Even though it looked a little overdone at first, the flavor completely changed our minds after the first bite. The smoked chicken was tender and smoky, and the sauces absolutely stole the show. From the sweet house sauce to the habanero mango and mustard sauce, every sauce brought something different to the table.

We also talk about the cool vibe around Davidson itself, the owner’s hospitality, and why the potato salad may honestly be one of the best sides we’ve had yet. Between the atmosphere, the sauces, and some seriously good barbecue, Crazy Pig quickly worked its way into the conversation for our North Carolina Top 25 rankings.

If you enjoy North Carolina barbecue, small-town food spots, and trying places that locals truly love, this is definitely an episode you’ll want to check out.
